The BAZ-6403 prime mover is a member of the BAZ Voschina-1 family of heavy military vehicles, with the BAZ-6909 being the baseline model. This family shares a high commonality of components and parts, enhancing maintainability and logistics efficiency.
The BAZ-6403 boasts excellent cross-country mobility, allowing it to operate across rough terrain and in remote areas. Its primary role is to tow semi-trailers carrying main battle tanks, self-propelled artillery units, and other heavy equipment. It can handle loads with a maximum weight of 52 tons, with a gross combination weight of up to 90 tons. Additionally, it can tow semi-trailers equipped with fuel tanks, air defense radars, and other special equipment.
