Purpose-built for use on tourist railroads and routes with exceptional scenic beauty, open-sided excursion cars provide a more exhilarating, sensory experience, allowing passengers to feel the wind as the train moves, smell the smoke from the locomotive, and hear the whistle as they traverse the landscape. For railroad operators, these cars are also cost-effective, utilizing existing frames and trucks from freight cars. This model represents cars found on the historic Cumbres and Toltec Railroad, which operates over 64 miles of former Denver and Rio Grande Western™ trackage through the dramatic mountains and plains of the Colorado and New Mexico border.
