Offered exclusively as a “Bar Mills Direct” kit, this go-anywhere, do-anything building is fairly simple to assemble, and like all “Direct” kits, it is value-oriented!
Don’t ask how we came up with the name “The Gravely Building”, We honestly don’t know. We just figured that with apartments and an office on the upper floors and retailers on ground level, it would make sense. The pre-printed windows, colorful awnings, and unusual 2nd floor porch help to define this structure. Equally at home in the Northeast or someplace on the west coast, it can be used on just about any HO, S, or O-scale layout.
Whenever we build multiple prototypes, we try different color schemes. It seems that a lot of modelers insist on painting their models the way we paint ours! ... and it’s simply not the way to approach creative modeling. The thumbnail above is the “S” scale version of the kit. Same attitude and general idea, but a different color scheme and a somewhat different look.
