Based on the French delta-wing fighter Mirage 5, this supersonic jet fighter was developed by Israel. The original Atar 9C engine was replaced with the American GE J79 to increase power. Canard wings were added behind the air intakes to improve maneuverability. Additionally, advanced technologies such as a fly-by-wire control system were adopted.
