The Sikorsky SH-60J Seahawk is a next-generation anti-submarine helicopter adopted by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force as a successor to the HSS-2 Sea King. The SH-60J is based on the SH-60B multipurpose helicopter used by the U.S. Navy. Anti-submarine warfare equipment is domestically developed and installed to suit Japan's anti-submarine warfare. It is one size smaller than the HSS-2, and the crew has been streamlined from four to three.
