Developed by the Budd Company in the mid-1970s, the Amfleet I was the first single-level passenger car designed exclusively for Amtrak®. With over 350 still in service across the United States today, it remains the backbone of Amtrak’s single-level passenger car fleet and can be found on regional and intercity trains from coast to coast. Bachmann’s N scale Amfleet I features a fully detailed and lighted interior, all-metal wheels, and body-mounted E-Z Mate® Mark II couplers.
