The AV-8A Harrier is a close support attack aircraft of the United States Marine Corps. The Harrier was the world's first vertical/short take-off and landing aircraft, developed by Hawker. The Royal Air Force quickly adopted it as the GR.1. The USMC AV-8A is basically the same as the GR.1, but with a higher power output Mk.103 engine instead of the Pegasus Mk.102, and was licensed produced by McDonnell Douglas.
