The M1142 Tactical Fire Fighting Truck (TFFT) is an integration of an Oshkosh HEMTT chassis mated with a commercial Pierce fire fighting package. standard M977A2 HEMTT chassis carrying an add-on commercial firefighting package.M1142 was delivered for testing in 2005 and first fielded in 2007. Pierce Manufacturing division of Oshkosh is the integration contractor. The M1142 Tactical Fire Fighting Truck (TFFT) is a multifunctional vehicle, ready to deploy in almost any terrain to combat five types of fires/hazards: wildland; structural (limited to two stories or less); petroleum, oils, and lubricants (POL) and hazardous materials (HAZMAT); tactical vehicle; and aircraft crashes.
