Historical Background
The MLU-10/B was a 750-lb. air-delivered anti-vehicle land mine used during the Vietnam War. Its blunt, flat nose and low-ricochet trajectory made it effective for low-altitude delivery as low as 11 m (35 ft). The closely related BLU-14/B and BLU-31/B share the same basic airframe shape and weight. The designation "BLU" (Bomb Live Unit) distinguishes live ordnance from "BDU" (Bomb Dummy Unit) practice rounds.
