Based on the M60 Patton tank chassis, the M728 featured a 165mm demolition gun for destroying fortifications, a hydraulically operated dozer blade for earthmoving and obstacle clearing, and an A-frame crane for lifting operations. This versatile vehicle served with U.S. Army engineer units from the 1960s through the 1990s, seeing action in Vietnam, Operation Desert Storm, and other conflicts.
