About German Heavy Cruiser Blücher

The Blücher was an Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser of the German Kriegsmarine, commissioned in 1939. She was named after the Prussian Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher. On April 9, 1940, during the invasion of Norway, Blücher was sunk by Norwegian coastal defenses in the Oslofjord, becoming one of the first major German warship losses of World War II.
