Historical Background

Ford introduced its groundbreaking V-8 engine in 1932, bringing powerful eight-cylinder performance to the low-price field for the first time. This innovation transformed the commercial vehicle market and made Ford trucks a dominant force in American industry.

The term "1932 Ford" encompasses three distinct automobile models produced by Ford Motors between 1932 and 1934:

  • Model B - The four-cylinder successor to the Model A
  • Model 18 - The first Ford fitted with the revolutionary flathead V-8 engine

Evolution of the Platform

These three car models were replaced by the Model 48 in 1935, which utilized the same proven chassis as its predecessor.
