About the Messerschmitt Bf.109Z-1 Zwilling:
The Bf.109Z-1 Zwilling (German for "twin") was an experimental twin-fuselage heavy fighter developed by Messerschmitt in 1943. The design joined two Bf.109F airframes with a new center wing section, creating a long-range fighter-bomber and Zerstörer. The pilot occupied the port cockpit while the starboard cockpit was faired over. Only one prototype was built before it was destroyed in an Allied bombing raid, making this one of aviation history's most intriguing "what-if" aircraft.
