Aircraft Background

Developed from the D.H.4, the D.H.9 moved the pilot and gunner closer together and introduced a more streamlined nose and central fuselage. The aircraft entered front-line service near the end of 1917 and later served with operators in Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and Russia.
