About the Northrop F-89 Scorpion:

The Northrop F-89 Scorpion was an American all-weather interceptor aircraft designed to defend against Soviet bomber threats during the Cold War. Featuring a distinctive twin-engine design and tandem cockpit configuration, the F-89 served as a key component of the U.S. Air Defense Command from the early 1950s through the early 1960s. The D and J variants were among the most numerous versions produced.
