What's Included

  • Four (4) 3D printed LAU-7/A-4 and LAU-7/A-5 missile launchers
  • Accurate representation of the 1976-1987 configuration
  • Designed for use with AIM-9L Sidewinder missiles
  • Compatible with F-14 Tomcat, F/A-18 Hornet, F-4 Phantom, A-4 Skyhawk, A-6 Intruder, and A-7 Corsair II

Historical Accuracy

In September 1976, AAC 688 introduced a new dual Fin Retaining Clip for the new AIM-9L Sidewinder, creating the LAU-7/A-4. In June 1980, AAC-736 was introduced and the launcher became the LAU-7/A-5. The LAU-7/A-5 was the launcher used when two VF-41 F-14A Tomcats shot down two Libyan Su-22 Fitters over the Gulf of Sidra on 19 August 1981, marking one of the most famous air combat engagements of the Cold War era.

Premium 3D Printed Quality

Flying Leathernecks utilizes advanced 3D printing technology to produce highly detailed weapons and launcher sets. Each LAU-7/A launcher features accurate dimensions, dual fin retaining clips, and mounting details based on technical references, ensuring your aircraft displays period-correct late Cold War weapons configurations.

Perfect For

This launcher set is essential for modelers building late Cold War-era U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft from 1976 to 1987. The LAU-7/A-5 is particularly significant for F-14 Tomcat builds commemorating the Gulf of Sidra incident. Pair these launchers with our 1/72 Flying Leathernecks Aftermarket Parts collection and LAU-7 Stencil Data Decals for complete weapons detailing.
