Rapido HO Scale ALCo PA-1 + PB-1 Diesel Locomotive Set - AT&SF Repowered #51A + #51C
The popular Alco PA and PB series returns for a second run! Following the success of the first run, Rapido is pleased to offer new schemes and variations. On this run you'll notice certain roads now have the larger flat number boards as well as the original side boards. New pilots will also grace the front of select models.
Scale and Type
This is an HO scale model set featuring an ALCo PA-1 (A unit) and a PB-1 (B unit) diesel locomotive, compatible with both DC and DCC layouts.
Prototype-Specific Details
This model represents a unique variation of the Santa Fe units #51A and #51C, which were experimentally repowered in 1954 with EMD 567C prime movers. The model accurately features the resulting body modifications, including:
- Distinctive roof blister
- EMD-style exhaust
- Four button-top EMD-style fans
- Iconic Santa Fe "Warbonnet" paint scheme
