Rapido Trains HO Scale ALCo PA-1 + PA-1 Locomotive Set - CN Demonstrator

The popular Alco PA and PB series returns for a second run! Following the success of the first run, Rapido is pleased to offer new schemes and variations. On this run you'll notice certain roads now have the larger flat number boards as well as the original side boards. New pilots will also grace the front of select models.

This HO scale (1:87) set includes two powered ALCo PA-1 locomotive units (#9077 and #9078) in the short-lived Canadian National (CN) demonstrator green and gold paint scheme. These models were developed using a 3D laser scan of a preserved prototype unit to ensure accurate carbody contours, including correct nose and roof profiles.

• ESU LokSound V5 Decoder

Electronics and Performance

Sound and Control: Equipped with a factory-installed ESU LokSound V5 Decoder in both units, providing high-resolution audio with accurate sounds and full DCC feature control, while also operating on DC layouts.

Drive System: Both units feature Rapido's proven, smooth-running drive system with a heavy die-cast chassis and all wheels powered for excellent performance.

Lighting and Detailing

Lighting: Complete lighting effects are included, such as LED headlights, illuminated number boards, cab interior lights, and ground lights (not all lighting features work in DC mode).

Detailing: The models feature numerous road-specific details in both plastic and etched metal, including full underbody piping and conduit, separate grab irons and handrails installed at the factory, and etched-metal grilles.
