The Circuitron FL-2 is an alternating flasher for model railroaders building illuminated grade crossings on HO or N scale layouts. It can be controlled by a Grade Crossing Detection circuit, wired for continuous flashing, or operated manually with a panel switch.
Product Details
- Material: 1.5 x 3 inch printed circuit board.
- Scale compatibility: HO and N scale train layouts.
- Use: One FL-2 is needed per road crossing, regardless of the number of tracks, when each track has its own detection circuit.
- Outputs: Each output supports a maximum load of 250 mA.
- Lighting compatibility: Powers incandescent lamps or LEDs when used with proper current-limiting resistors.
- Capacity: Typically supports 3 to 4 standard grain-of-wheat lamps or 10 to 15 LEDs per side, depending on lamp current draw.
Important Notes
The FL-2 outputs are not protected against overcurrent or short-circuit conditions. Connecting too many lamps can damage the circuit and is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. If lamp current is uncertain, check it with an ammeter before connecting the circuit.
