3D Print Product Info
  1. Item(s) is/are LCD-based SLA printed using UV cured resin and will be shipped unpainted and with 3D print supports attached.
  2. Item can be primed with acrylic, lacquer or enamel type paint.
  3. Lightly sand and/or prime any horizontal striations due to the printing process.
  4. Remove supports starting from the tip down and start by freeing those supports connected to small and fragile details.
  5. Recommend using CA for attaching item to model or filling any imperfections.
  6. Item(s) will have features that are brittle or extremely delicate and prone to breaking if not properly handled.
  7. 3D print support configurations may be different than the ones in the photos if applicable.

    This in-house designed and 3D-printed resin set provides two accurate 1/48 British 2000 lb AP Mk 1 armor-piercing bombs for WWII RAF heavy bomber projects. It is intended for modelers detailing Lancaster, Halifax, and related RAF bomber kits.

    Product Details

    The Bomb Mk I features a forged steel body profile with a solid nose approximately 1.9 ft. long and a slight taper from maximum diameter to the tail. The base is threaded externally to take a tail adapter, and internally to take a base adapter that receives the exploder container. The fuze is locked in position by a fuze securing ring.

    Variants Mk II and III are similar to the Mk I, differing only in the tail adapter, which has four equally spaced threaded holes for tail attachment. The Mk IV is modified to accept a Tail Pistol No. 30.

    Tail configurations modeled include the No. 1 Mk I, with an aluminum-alloy cylindrical strut and four vanes; the No. 15 Mk I, made of steel with a strengthening ring; and the No. 47 Mk I, with a cylindrical strut, four riveted fins, and a reach rod supported by a spider. The bomb is suspended from the aircraft by two suspension bands.
