This 1/72 R-1830 radial engine is a 3D-printed resin detail upgrade for aircraft modelers who need a compact engine detail part. It is designed and 3D printed in resin in-house by MPM Hobbies.

It is not designed for a particular kit, so compare the measurements with your model before assembly. An aircraft's use of the R-1830 does not guarantee that this part will fit a given plastic kit.

Key Details

  • Material: 3D-printed resin.
  • Scale: 1/72.
  • Subject: R-1830 radial engine.
  • Contents: One engine detail part.
  • Dimensions: 27.31 mm wide, measured across the engine from piston end to opposite side; 18.93 mm long, measured from the rear of the 1.32 mm backplate to the start of the propeller shaft.
  • Supports: 0.30 mm 3D printer supports are attached to delicate parts and can be removed carefully with a sharp #11 blade at the support connection.

Fit and Preparation

Because manufacturers scale their kits differently, this part may require modification to the model kit, the resin part, or both. Use R-1830 reference photos while removing supports, and avoid removing material simply because it does not look like part of the engine.

The print is shipped unpainted with 3D supports attached. Color images are for display purposes only.
