Prototype Information

Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Heritage

The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, founded in 1827, was the first common carrier railroad in the United States and played a crucial role in American industrial development. Known for its distinctive blue paint scheme and Capitol Dome logo, the B&O served major cities including Baltimore, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Chicago until its merger with the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway in 1963.
