About the StuG IV Sd.Kfz.167

The Sturmgeschütz IV was developed in late 1943 as an alternative to the StuG III, utilizing the more readily available Panzer IV chassis. The StuG IV mounted the proven 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48 gun in a low-profile superstructure, providing excellent firepower for supporting infantry operations. The early production version featured the characteristic Panzer IV hull with the assault gun superstructure. Approximately 1,100 StuG IVs were produced between December 1943 and March 1945, serving primarily on the Eastern and Western Fronts where they proved effective in both offensive and defensive operations.
