About the leFH 18:

The leichte Feldhaubitze 18 entered service with the Wehrmacht in 1935 and became the standard divisional artillery piece for German forces throughout World War II. With a maximum range of 10,675 meters and firing a 14.81 kg shell, the leFH 18 provided effective indirect fire support for infantry and armored units. Its split-trail carriage allowed for a wide traverse arc, while the gun shield protected the crew from small arms fire and shrapnel. Over 11,000 leFH 18 howitzers were produced during the war, serving in every theater from North Africa to the Eastern Front. The weapon's reliability, accuracy, and effectiveness made it one of the most respected artillery pieces of the war.
