Use and Mixing

Thinning for Airbrushing

For airbrushing, use Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner. Tamiya Lacquer Thinner can provide faster drying and a harder finish. Tamiya thinners suitable for this paint include items 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, and 87077.

Finish and Brushwork

Tamiya XF colors have a flat finish. Tamiya X-21 Flat Base can flatten Tamiya gloss bottle paints. For smoother brushwork, Tamiya Paint Retarder, item 87114, can help reduce visible brushstrokes.
