Vallejo Metal Color 77704 Pale Burnt Metal is a ready-to-use, water-based metallic paint in a 32ml bottle. It is made for modelers reproducing natural metal finishes on aircraft and other subjects with an airbrush or brush.

About Metal Color

Metal Color uses real aluminum pigments for high reflectivity and a smooth, self-leveling film that preserves fine surface detail. It can be applied straight from the bottle through an airbrush or thinned with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver, and it can be tinted in the airbrush cup with Vallejo Model Air paints or Vallejo Game Air paints.

Key details

  • Type: water-based acrylic metallic paint with aluminum pigments
  • Color: Pale Burnt Metal (reference 77704)
  • Size: 32ml bottle with hinged cap, eyedropper closure, and a stainless steel mixing ball
  • Application: airbrush at roughly 15-20 psi, or by brush
  • Contents: one bottle of paint

Using it on a model

For airframes and aircraft components, a gloss black primer underneath brings out the character of the aluminum shades. Metal Color dries quickly, though it is best to wait about 12 hours before applying masks. Clean your airbrush with Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.
