Tamiya X-22 Acrylic Clear is a 23ml gloss acrylic paint for scale modelers who need a smooth clear coat for brush painting or airbrushing. It is suitable for common modeling surfaces and can be thinned for the finish you want.

Product Details

  • Color: Clear
  • Finish: Gloss, from the Tamiya X color range
  • Paint type: Water-soluble acrylic resin
  • Contents: One 23ml bottle
  • Compatible surfaces: Styrene, resin, Styrofoam, wood, and common model plastics
  • Application: Brush painting or airbrushing

Application Notes

Thinning and Cleanup

For airbrushing, thin with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner. Tamiya Lacquer Thinner can provide faster drying and a harder finish. For smoother brushwork, Tamiya Paint Retarder can help reduce visible brush strokes. Before curing, the paint can be washed away with plain water.

Follow the thinner manufacturer's directions and test on a spare surface before applying the clear coat to a finished model.
