Use and thinning

For airbrushing, use Tamiya X-20A Acrylic thinner or Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. Lacquer thinner can provide faster drying and a harder finish. For smoother brushwork, Tamiya Paint Retarder (87114) can help reduce visible brushstrokes.

Suitable Tamiya thinners include 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, and 87077.
