This 1/250 scale model represents a two masted, twelve-gun Felucca of the 17th and early 18th centuries. These were favored by pirates in the Mediterranean Sea and Indian Oceans for their speed and maneuverability, but at least one was used by the pirate Jean Laffite at his Barataria Bay hideout.
