This 1/32 R-1830 radial engine is a 3D-printed resin detail part for aircraft modelers working on scale projects. It is designed and 3D printed in resin in-house by MPM Hobbies.
Specifications and Fit
-
Material: 3D-printed resin.
-
Scale: 1/32.
-
Compatibility: Not designed for any particular kit. The real aircraft's use of an R-1830 does not guarantee fit because manufacturers use different measurements when scaling plastic models.
-
Dimensions: Engine width, measured across the engine from piston end to opposite piston end, is 37.62 mm. Engine length, measured from the back of the 2 mm backplate to the beginning of the propeller shaft, is 28.22 mm.
-
Fit note: You may need to modify the model kit, this part, or both to achieve the required fit.
Contents and Finish
-
Contents: One R-1830 radial engine, one item.
-
Finish: The print is shipped unpainted with 3D supports attached. Color images are for display purposes only.
-
Support removal: The smallest 0.30 mm supports can be removed from delicate parts with a sharp #11 blade, cutting where each support meets the engine part. Support removal requires model-building knowledge and careful use of R-1830 reference photos.
Remove supports selectively. Removing anything that does not look like part of the engine can damage the result, so compare the print with reference photos as you work.
