About Japanese Navy Submarine I-58

The I-58 was a Japanese B3-type submarine that achieved notoriety for sinking the USS Indianapolis on July 30, 1945, in one of the most tragic naval disasters in U.S. history. Commanded by Mochitsura Hashimoto, the I-58 fired six torpedoes, two of which struck the cruiser.
