About the American Helicopter XH-26 Jet Jeep:

The XH-26 Jet Jeep was an experimental ultra-light helicopter developed by American Helicopter Company in the early 1950s for the U.S. Army. Designed to be a one-man portable reconnaissance helicopter that could be disassembled and carried by troops, the XH-26 featured an innovative tip-jet rotor system powered by pulse jets mounted at the blade tips. This eliminated the need for a tail rotor and transmission, creating an extremely simple and lightweight design. Though the concept proved too noisy and fuel-inefficient for military adoption, the XH-26 remains one of the most fascinating experimental helicopters of the Cold War era.
