About the Subject
The Komatsu G40 was produced for the Japanese Navy during World War II and was Japan's first domestically produced bulldozer. Based on a farm tractor design, it used a 50-horsepower gasoline engine and hydraulic dozer blade to support airfield construction. About 150 were built from 1943 through the end of the war.
