This kit recreates the aircraft carrier Akagi during the Battle of Midway, with the Hinomaru (Japanese flag) marked on her flight deck.

This is a full-hull version with added plastic parts for the ship's bottom. The main hull part is a single molding, with girder parts slotted into the inside. The bilge keels and propeller area are separate parts. The kit includes a wooden display stand and an aluminum nameplate.
