About the Bristol 192 Belvedere:

A significant post-war achievement for Britain's aviation industry, the Bristol Belvedere was a highly capable, tandem-rotor, heavy-lift helicopter which underlined the versatility of modern rotorcraft. Featuring true twin-engine redundancy, the Belvedere could operate safely on just a single engine if required, making it exceptionally reliable for military operations. The tandem-rotor design provided excellent lifting capacity and stability, allowing it to transport troops, supplies, and equipment in challenging conditions. Surprisingly, only 26 of these helicopters were produced, serving primarily with the RAF in the early 1960s before being replaced by more modern designs. Despite its limited production, the Belvedere proved the viability of tandem-rotor heavy-lift helicopters.
