The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II is a development of the United States Air Force's F-4C/D fighter bomber, and is the first Phantom II to be equipped with a 20mm Vulcan cannon. Aircraft manufactured after production Block 48 of the E model were modified from leading edge flaps to leading edge slats, improving air combat performance.
In addition, a target identification system (TISEO) was installed on the leading edge of the left wing, and an ARN-101Mod antenna was added to the rear of the fuselage.
