Application Tips

Airbrushing Tips

When airbrushing, thin with Tamiya Acrylic Thinner X-20A (items 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077) for standard results, or use Tamiya Lacquer Thinner for faster drying and a harder finish.

Finishing Tips

  • To convert a gloss Tamiya color to flat, mix with Tamiya X-21 Flat Base (items 81521 / 81021) at a 1:1 ratio.
  • For smoother brush strokes, add Tamiya Paint Retarder (item 87114).
