Tamiya Mini X-21 Acrylic Flat Base is a water-soluble additive for scale modelers who want to convert a gloss Tamiya acrylic color to a flat finish. It works for brush painting and airbrushing on common model surfaces.

How to Use

Mixing and application

Add X-21 to a Tamiya acrylic color and adjust the amount to achieve the desired flat finish. Stir thoroughly before brushing or airbrushing. X-designated Tamiya colors are gloss, while XF-designated colors are flat.

Thinning and brush control

For airbrushing, thin with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner or a compatible Tamiya lacquer thinner. For smoother brush application, use Tamiya Paint Retarder 87114.
