Use and Application

Brush Painting

For smoother brush results, Tamiya Paint Retarder item 87114 can help reduce visible brushstrokes. Clean up uncured paint with plain water.

Airbrushing

Thin the paint with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner. Tamiya Lacquer Thinner can provide faster drying and a harder finish. Compatible thinner items include 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, and 87077.

Modeling Notes

Tamiya X colors have a glossy finish, while XF colors have a flat finish. Tamiya X-21 Flat Base, items 81521 or 81021, can be mixed with gloss bottle paints when a flatter finish is needed.
