Application Tips

Airbrushing Tips

For airbrushing, thin with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner or Tamiya Lacquer Thinner (items 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077). Lacquer thinner yields faster drying and a harder finish.

Finishing Tips

  • Add Tamiya X-21 Flat Base (items 81521 / 81021) to gloss colors at a 1:1 ratio to achieve a flat finish.
  • Use Tamiya Paint Retarder (item 87114) for smoother, brushstroke-free results when brush painting.
