The Mr. Hobby Gundam Marker GM002 is a gray, ultra-thin pen point marker made for panel lining plastic model kits. It is a straightforward way for Gunpla builders and scale modelers to add shadow and definition to recessed panel lines without mixing paint.

Why Modelers Use It

Panel lining is often the first customization step new builders try. Ink flows into each part's grooves to sharpen detail and give the finished model a more realistic, three-dimensional look. Matching ink color to part color gives the best result: black for dark parts, gray for lighter parts, and brown for red parts. This gray marker is the most popular choice for light-colored armor and panels.

How to Use

Application

Draw the ink along a recessed panel line and let it wick into the groove, then wipe away the excess. Replace the cap after use so the tip does not dry out.

Cautions

  • Applying over Mr. Color, Aqueous Hobby Color, Gundam Color, or colored-type Gundam Marker paint may melt the paint film.
  • A melted paint film can clog the marker tip and restrict ink flow.
  • Use on ABS plastic is not recommended, as the ink may damage the surface.

Finishing Tip

After panel lining, seal the work with a coat of Mr. Topcoat or Premium Topcoat.
