Painting Tips

Brush and airbrush use

The paint covers well, flows smoothly, and can be blended easily. For airbrushing, thin it with Tamiya Acrylic Thinner, including items 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, or 87077. Before the paint cures, it can be washed away with plain water.

Adjusting the finish

Tamiya X colors have a gloss finish, while XF colors have a flat finish. Tamiya X-21 Flat Base, items 81521 and 81021, can flatten a gloss bottle paint. The recommended mixing ratio is 1:1. Tamiya Paint Retarder, item 87114, can help produce a smoother brush finish.
