Application and compatibility

The paint covers well, flows smoothly, and blends easily. Before it cures, it can be washed away with plain water. It is suitable for scale aircraft, armor, vehicles, and other model subjects.

Thinning for airbrushing

For airbrushing, use Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner. Tamiya Lacquer Thinner can provide faster drying and a harder finish. The compatible Tamiya thinner items are 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, and 87077.

Brush painting and finish control

For smoother brush application, use Tamiya Paint Retarder item 87114. Tamiya X-21 Flat Base, available as items 81521 and 81021, can flatten Tamiya gloss bottle paints. Mix one part gloss color with one part Flat Base.
