About the PaK 35/36 Auf Sd.Kfz 10:

The mounting of the 3.7cm PaK 35/36 anti-tank gun on the Sd.Kfz 10 light halftrack represented an early German attempt to create mobile anti-tank capability. Nicknamed the "Türklopfer" (door knocker) by German troops due to its limited effectiveness against heavier Allied armor, the PaK 35/36 was nonetheless the Wehrmacht's standard anti-tank gun in the early war years. By mounting it on the Sd.Kfz 10 halftrack, German forces gained the ability to quickly reposition anti-tank guns to meet threats, a crucial advantage in the mobile warfare of 1939-1941. The Sd.Kfz 10 provided a stable firing platform and could tow additional ammunition trailers. These self-propelled conversions saw service in the Polish Campaign, the Battle of France, and the early stages of Operation Barbarossa. While the 37mm gun became obsolete as Allied tank armor improved, these vehicles represent an important transitional phase in German anti-tank doctrine and the development of self-propelled artillery.
