Class I railroads such as Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern, Kansas City Southern, and Montana Rail Link have all commissioned unique and eye-catching paint schemes for their fleets. In 2005, UP unveiled six "Heritage" units, each representing a predecessor railroad. In 2012, NS rolled out 20 commemorative locomotives—including 10 SD70ACes numbered 1065–1074—for its 30th anniversary.
