The X90 series, the fifth generation of the Chaser and the fourth generation of the Cresta, was fully remodeled from the previous X80 series and made its debut in October 1992. The body was made into a standard 3-number car, and evolved into a more stylish car with a wide, curved surface. The platform of a new design was introduced from this generation and achieved a weight reduction of nearly 100 kg from the previous generation while the body became larger.
