The X90 series, the seventh generation of the Mark II, was fully remodeled from the previous X80 series in October 1992. The body was changed to the size of all the cars, and evolved into a more stylish car with a wide, curved surface. The platform of a new design was introduced from this generation, and achieved a weight reduction of nearly 100 kg from the previous generation while the body became larger.
