About the Pak.41:

The 7.5cm Panzerabwehrkanone 41 represented one of the most innovative anti-tank gun designs of World War II. Introduced in 1941, it utilized a revolutionary taper-bore (Gerlich principle) design where the barrel diameter decreased from 75mm at the breech to 55mm at the muzzle. This squeezed specially designed tungsten-core projectiles to extremely high velocities—over 1,400 meters per second—providing exceptional armor penetration that could defeat any Allied tank of the period. The Pak.41 could penetrate 177mm of armor at 500 meters, performance comparable to the much larger 8.8cm Flak gun. However, the weapon's reliance on scarce tungsten for ammunition and the complexity of manufacturing the tapered barrel limited production to only 150 units. Despite its small numbers, the Pak.41 earned a fearsome reputation on the Eastern Front and in North Africa, where its combination of light weight, high velocity, and devastating penetration made it one of the most effective anti-tank weapons of its size.
