The Mikoyan MiG-27 Flogger D is a combat/attack aircraft developed from the Soviet Air Force’s variable-sweep wing fighter, the MiG-23, with enhanced ground-attack capabilities. While it retains the variable-sweep wings and tail structure of the MiG-23, the radar fire-control system has been removed, resulting in a flattened nose design. The cockpit is armored for protection. Additionally, the number of pylons has been increased to seven, allowing for a greater external weapons load.
