About Operation Jubilee and the Hurricane Mk IIc

Operation Jubilee, the Allied raid on Dieppe on August 19, 1942, saw intensive air combat as RAF squadrons provided cover for the landing forces. Hurricane Mk IIc fighters, armed with four 20mm Hispano cannons, flew numerous ground-attack and air superiority missions during this costly operation. The cannon-armed Hurricanes proved effective against ground targets and provided crucial support despite fierce Luftwaffe opposition.
